This Privacy Policy explains how Lecturase ("we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our lecture-notes service. Please read it alongside our Terms of Service.

Information we collect

• Account information — your email address, handled through our authentication provider (Supabase) when you sign up and sign in.
• Content you upload — the lecture audio you record or upload, and any slides or documents you add to improve accuracy.
• Generated content — the transcripts, study notes, and practice questions Lecturase creates from your uploads, and the folders you organize them into.
• Optional profile details — if you choose to share them, your education level and main subject area, used only to tailor your notes.

How we use your information

• To transcribe your audio and generate your study notes and practice questions.
• To store, organize, and let you access your library across devices.
• To operate, maintain, secure, and improve the service.
• To communicate with you about your account when necessary.

Processing and storage

Your account, content, and files are stored using Supabase (database and file storage). To produce transcripts and notes, audio and text are sent to our AI processing provider (OpenAI) solely to generate your results. We do not sell your personal information or your uploaded content.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your content for as long as your account is active so you can access your library. You can request deletion of your lectures or your entire account at any time, and we will remove your content from our systems.

Security

We use industry-standard measures including encrypted connections and access controls to protect your data. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Children

Lecturase is intended for students in higher education and secondary school. If you are under the age of digital consent in your country, please use Lecturase only with the involvement of a parent, guardian, or school.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
